Today I have a story - about that people can be really nice. And days like today make me think that it's not truth that people are bad and will never help. OK, no more introduction, that's the story:
Yesterday we had a company party which I went to after some troubles with making decision and my co-workers convincing me to go. It was fun, free food and free drinks, really nice people. We talked a lot - in English, Czech, Polish and French, we played foozball, we sat at the beach and we had a boat trip...it was great!!! As I mentioned, the drinks were free, so we all got drunk a bit. And it started raining, I was in sandals, they were wet and very slippery. I felt from the stairs on the boat (I know, I'm really ashamed - company party). And because my bag doesn't have a zipper, my wallet felt out. Of course I noticed it today in the morning, getting ready to leave to work. I called the boat and they said they have the wallet and I should pick it up when I want to. And then I realized how much money I had in there - 3 500Kc, which is around 150$!!! And when I got the wallet, everything was there! My credit cards, tram/metro pass for 3 months, all the money!
I was really amazed! Now anyone who will visit me here will have to take the boat trip with them. That will be my thank you. Or, the other option is sending some chocolates. I need to figure it out.
OK, have to run, Maysia is here and I'm meeting her in 5 minutes. I'm so happy!!!

Sama na obczyznie
I'm afraid my blog will soon become like Prince's one - no post for 3 months. I hope not, but... I don't really have anything interesting to say, just what was I doing and it's always about weekends. Today I don't have anything especially interesting either.
I'm in a weird mood recently. I miss my family and my friend from Poland. Here, pople are nice but they are different. All the natives - they are not the same and I miss "my people". The only positive thing that happend was that I met with Lida. On the other hand even if I were in Poland, I wouldn't see my friend too often. They are all busy - too busy to write an email :( And they are foregetting me very fast. I don't think I should be surprised - this year here, last year in Sweden, I think I lost them. Fun time of studies passed and now every yeaar I will have less and less friends, at least the old ones will go on their own ways. It's sad.
Last week it was my parents' 25th anniversary of marriage. I foregot about it. I feel really bad and ashamed. I'm afraid they are very dissapointed :(

United Islands of Prague
Good morning!
Just a short post on Saturday morning. If you'd like to see, what we're doing this weekend, visit United Islands of Prague. I'm looking forward to see Placebo tonight. Yesterday we saw Rachid Taha, and it was amazing. The guy is Algerian, plays similar music to Kahled. I didn't really want to go but I'm very happy we end up going. It was real show, not the kind of concert I'd normally go in Poland. And tonight it will be real world - class.

Great News!
I'm going to the US!!! Well, at least that's the plan. My managers finally decided to send us to Pittsburg for the training. Our company is based in California and Pittsburg and there in Pittsburg there is the same team as our and they invited us. On Friday July 7th I have the visa interview. The date is unfortunate bc we were going to go to Cesky Krumlov for 4 days (the 5th and the 6th is national holiday in the CR), at least 4 of us and I was organizing it. So now, we're not going there, we might go cannoying or something - we'll see. I'm mostly concerned about the visa. I'm so happy! It's almost impossible not to get it when going for business trip. But still, keep your fingers crossed.
And other things? I have wonderful pics of sky before the storm from our window but they are not downloaded yet :( I'll try to force Prince to do it, so I can post them.
I saw Lida this week. It was wonderful. I missed her, we hadn't seen more than two months. But this is a story for another post.

Leniwy sobotni poranek
Spokojny sobotni poranek nam mija na planowaniu dzisiejszej nocy. Wczoraj bylismy w winiarni, a potem w bardzo klimatycznej kafejce ze starymi fotografiami i lustrami itp na scianach (takie fotografie jak ta jedna sliczna cioci Mani, ktora wisiala nad drzwiami w pokoju babci i dziadzia). Klimat, nie klimat, upilismy sie troszke :) Ogolnie mily wieczor. Z tym ze Ksieciunio upil sie szybciej niz ja i chcial wracac no wiec ja musialam dozlopac swoje piwko szybciutko hehe co mi troszke uderzylo do glowy. Ale chlodne powietrze mi pomoglo i spokojnie dotarlismy do domu. Dzisiaj nie mam ani odrobinki kaca, w przeciwienstwie do Ksieciunia ktory od 7 rano umieral na kanapie :) Ale przez upal i alkochol sie obudzilam przed 8 i ok 8 wstalam. Wyobrazacie sobie? Ja o 8 w weekend!!! Tylko pogoda sie troszke popsuka, ale to dobrze, bo juz bylo za goraco. Przynamniej slonca nie ma takiego. I oddychac mozna latwiej.
To sie zabieram za jakies spprzatanie, bo lodowke w koncu rozmrazam (planowalam to juz ze 3 miesiace).

"(Almost) In-laws" in Prague
I have a slow day at work - there is a national holiday in Poland today so nobody is in the office, so I don't have to much to do. So I have time to write about the last week and weekend.
As you know, Prince's parents visited us. They came on Monday afternoon. I was so stressed the whole day - I couldn't concentrate on work, on my way to the train station I was shaking, terrible. But it was totally stupid and unnecessary - they are very nice people. We went for a dinner to our local on Monday, or maybe it was Tuesday... So we went somewhere else on Monday. I was working the whole week except for Friday so I joined them only for dinners. Unfortunately, Rob's Dad lost his wallet - it was stolen on tram. It was very unpleasant situation. We wanted to show them how beautiful and wonderful Prague is, but something like this destroys everything. Fortunately, he blocked all his credit cards fast enough and he didn't have too much cash.
On Friday we went to Josefov, Jewish quarter and then to Vysehrad (which I love, as you may already know). We ate in a dirty place, which was fun as usual. Oh, and on Wednesday we had dinner with Courtney and Adrian in the Budwar pub.
The best was the weekend. On Saturday morning we got a car and drove south to Cesky Krumlov with one stop in a lovely castle on a lake, Cervena Lhota or something like that. We arrived to Cesky Krumlov in the afternoon. It's wonderful place! We will definitely go back there. It's beautiful and old and small and it has great atmosphere. We went to the castle there and gardens and wondered around the town. On Saturday we went to Hluboka which is a castle near by (you know Prince; he wouldn't do anything except visiting castles if he could). Hluboka is said to be the most beautiful castle in South Bohemia and I definitely agree - it looks like from fairy tale. In the afternoon we went back to Cesky Krumlov, ate in Medivial place recommended by Ade, which was fun and delicious. And on Monday we drove back, stopping in Ceske Budejovice with great square, almost as big as the one in Krakow.
Weekend was great! And Rob's parents were very very nice. I enjoyed it very much and hopefully I'll figure out the way to visit them in the U.S.
As soon as Prince will download pictures, I'll post some of them.

Long expected post
I'm very very sorry for not updating for so long. We have quite a busy time recently.
First of all, Rob's parents are visiting us. There are really nice and I enjoy their company. I was extramelly stressed before they came - I was all shaking, terrible. But it turned out to great! Unfortunatelly I cannot spend as much time with them all as I'd like because of my work. And work has been busy and stressful recently as well. There are many issues. To explain it all would take too much time. And I'm at work right now so I don't have time. But I promise to write loooong post next week.
For the weekend we're going out to Cesky Krumlov, probably to Kutna Hora too. So wait patiently for an update.

Nudy na pudy (albo cos takiego..)
Nie pisalam, bo nic sie nie dzialo. W ostatni weekend nie robilismy nic. W piatek bylismy na piwku w ogrodku i tyle. Reszte czasu czytalam ksiazke... Nic mi sie nie chce, jakos tak dziwnie sie czuje caly tydzien. Na szczescie ten weekend zapowiada sie pozytywnie: dzisiaj znajomi ze studiow tutaj maja urodziny (az 4 chlopakow urodzonych w ten dzien - wow!), Ksieciunia znajomi ida do winiarni i tez nas zapraszali. Jutro kolezanka ma urodziny i tez imprezka. Tylko pogoda do kitu, no i nie pojezdze na roleczkach. A tak fajnie by bylo...
Jedyne co w sumie zrobilam w tym tygodniu to bylam u lekarza, tak o, prewentywnie. I sie ciesze, bo wszystko jest w porzadku. I u dentysty i okulisty tez. Zdrowa jak ryba :)

My poor English
Just to make this clear: we did not have marijuana beer (I wrote that we had weed beer in Pivovarsky Dum). It was wheat beer. Sorry for the confusion.
I think my English is getting worse and worse.... Maybe I should take some classes? But on the other hand, I planned to take French - I forgot so much and it would be nice to be able to speak it again, especially now I have opportunity to practice it with all the French people in my company. And I have a private English teacher, lessons every day - at home :)

Camping is fun
I appologize for a long break: work was quite busy lately. And I usually leave earlier than after 8 hours so.... And when I come home, the last thing I want to do is stearing at the computer screen again.
Weekend was great. We went camping, the weather sucked (they had said it would be 25 degrees on Saturday, it was aroung 18 and it rained most of the time) but it was great! I enjoyed every minute, every meter we walked (even with huuuge blisters on my feet), and we walked around 25 kilometers on Saturday. I'm not used to sleeping in a tent so I was freezing at nights and extremelly uncomfortable. But it was great! I'll try to write more, when my Prince will decide to download pics. He will be angry again that I'm posting them first haha.
I needed some time outside the city. Cities can be very very tiring and depressing. We both relaxed and survived without a single fight :)
So that's it for now, I'm going home (I need to clean this huge mess - I made a pile of things from camping in the middle of our bedroom).

Sprawy rodzinne
I'm very sorry for the delay - it was extremely busy week. As you probably know (at least some of you), my parents came to visit me. They drove here from Lublin in Poland and got here after 11 p.m. on Friday. I had been cleaning the whole week for their visit (my mum is a little bit crazy about that) so I was already tired. And what came next, was very exhausting. After they left, we understood the meaning of the word knackered :) So....on Saturday we went to Nove Mesto (Vaclavske Nam. and surroundings), Stare Mesto (Staromestske Nam., Obecni Dum, Celetna) and then to Karluv Most and Mala Strana. We had a nice lunch in extremely cheap place (for the area) and head back home to walk the dog. And when we reached our place, it started raining! We had been checking the weather forecasts and it was supposed to rain for the whole weekend! But after a short springy rain, the sun came out and we went for a walk by the river. For the dinner we went to Pivovarni Dum, which is a mini brewery right next to our place. We ordered samples of all their beers: light, dark, weed, coffee, sour cherry, blueberry, and nettle. It was great fun! If you'll have opportunity, go there! The beer is gorgeous, food is tasty, prices are ok.
On Sunday we went to Petrin and Hradcany. When I woke up, I thought we'll have to stay home because of the weather - it was all grey and rainy. Luckily, after two hours it got sunny and really nice. I met with Janas, which was very nice. I miss all my friends from Poland... But...so after Hradcany we came back home, ate some lunch and headed to the center. We hoped to sit in some nice restaurant, drink some beer (especially my dad) and maybe eat something later. You won't believe: everything was full!!! With Polish tourists mainly! It made me frustrated and we got into a little fight with my Prince, but it wasn't anything serious. So after a nice walk from Nove Mesto to stare Mesto and almost Josefov, we went back home and had a nice dinner at home: home made pierogi from my mum (it's kind of like ravioli but bigger...or smaller..I can't remember, and with white cheese, potatoes and onion inside) and fried cheese. It was delicious!
Monday was chilling out a little bit on Vysehrad. We had to do some shopping also (mainly alcohol - they love Beherovka which you can't get in Poland). And we went for lunch to the Budvar place (U Medviku for those who are not custom to our names like "the Soup place", "the Dirty place"). At least there were places for us. So we had lunch, went home, walked the dog, they started packing and after some time we went to our local for dinner.
Tuesday morning they left. And that's when I was so knackered. Actually Rob and I. But it was fun weekend. It was great to see them and to show all our places here, in Praha.
So that's why I didn't have time to post. On Tuesday I needed to rest, Wednesday I went shopping with Andrea (I bought some spring / summer clothes and spend more than half of the money from taxes) and yesterday we went for a dinner with Courtney and Ade. I learned what does it mean ditzy :)

Indian customs
Last week we got this meassage from our team in India:
"Raj Kumar, the film actor, passed away a few hours ago (link below) and we are already hearing from different sources that his fans are brewing trouble in different parts of the city. We must take this serously as Bangalore has already experienced considerable trouble from his fans in the past."
The next news follows it a few hours later:
"Further to this matter, as suspected, the unrest has already begun in the City and A. staff have been asked to immediately leave the office to their respective homes."
They couldn't leave their homes for 2 days! Crazy!!!

Polish, job and cleaning
Ok, ok, I promise - no more long Polish posts with names :)
For those, who felt uncomfortable, it was just presentation of my friends here and the strange relationships between them. It was the last time, I promise.
I went to the dentist yesterday. I was concerned, not to say scared - I haven't had my teeth checked for 3 years or more.... I sat at the chair and it took like 5 minutes. Everything is fine, no problems, nothing :))) I'm proud of my teeth, they behave well.
Except that - hmmm, nothing happened recently. We're getting bored at work. By now, we know our job quite well and we're fast. So it takes us about 4 hours to finish everything. We told our manager we want more responsibilities, but it will take a few months to figure something out probably. So we're on the Internet half a day. Like today: it's 11 a.m. and for now I don't have anything left. Something will come, I'm sure, but probably not too much. And that's almost every day. Well, there are usually 2-3 days a week when nothing comes later. I don't mind it too much, but on the other hand it's boring. And the time passes faster when there is some job to do. Also, I'm getting paid for just sitting here which is stupid. Yesterday I left at 4 p.m. Today will be probably similar.
This weekend will be busy - it's Elizabeth's last weekend :(( I love Elizabeth. So we're having dinner on Friday at her place, dinner and clubbing on Saturday and who knows what on Sunday (probably dying hehe). I have to start cleaning before my Mum will come. At least our place is in far better condition than the one in Krakow - it took us 3 days to clean, all 4 of us (even 5 with the owner LOL), for my parent's visit. Good old times. So I should start cleaning soon, as the weekend will be busy. And make my Prince forget he is a Prince for some time (members of Royal Families have cleaners and I'm not going to be his). I hope he will be a good boyfriend and will help me. Hope... he looked at me as I'd be crazy when I said we need to clean the windows. And I meant we - the windows are huge and I'm the small one in this relationship.
Uff, a long post :) Yes, I do not have too much work. But that's enough for now, maybe after lunch I will have some brilliant idea for a next post.
For those, who felt uncomfortable, it was just presentation of my friends here and the strange relationships between them. It was the last time, I promise.
I went to the dentist yesterday. I was concerned, not to say scared - I haven't had my teeth checked for 3 years or more.... I sat at the chair and it took like 5 minutes. Everything is fine, no problems, nothing :))) I'm proud of my teeth, they behave well.
Except that - hmmm, nothing happened recently. We're getting bored at work. By now, we know our job quite well and we're fast. So it takes us about 4 hours to finish everything. We told our manager we want more responsibilities, but it will take a few months to figure something out probably. So we're on the Internet half a day. Like today: it's 11 a.m. and for now I don't have anything left. Something will come, I'm sure, but probably not too much. And that's almost every day. Swieta, swieta ....i po swietach
Pieknie bylo, ale sie skonczylo - znowu w pracy. Dziwne byly te swieta. Zupelnie inne. Moja druga Wielkanoc poza domem, ale rok temu, w Szwecji, zorganizowalismy sobie uroczysty swiateczny obiad (no, sniadanie / obiad). Bo bylo duzo Polakow i wszyscy tesknili za domowa atmosfera. A tutaj bylismy tylko we dwojke. Ale poszlam do Kosciola, w poniedzialek Smingusa sobie urzadzilismy, wzbogaconego o czeska tradycje bicia kobiet witkami. Nie bolalo, takze luz.
W piatek poszlismy do pubu. Wiem, wiem, ze to Wielki piatek, ale nie pilam, tylko siedzielismy i rozmawialismy, takze nie wydaje mi sie, zeby bylo to cos nieodpowiedniego. Spotkalismy znajomych, ktorych dosc dawno nie widzielismy. Wszystko przez "dramat". Gdziekolwiek sie nie pojedzie, wszedzie dramat. Tutaj wyglada to tak: na kursie Roba byla grupka dziewczyn. Po kursie jak sie wyprowadzali z "akademika", podzielili sie w pary: Courtney z Adrianem, Elizabeth z Megan, zostala Lucy, ktora nie wiedziala, czy zostanie w Pradze i wrociala do Anglii na jakis czas, po czym przyjechala znowu do Pragi. Dramat zaczal sie od tego, ze Courtney i Lucy nie tolerowaly Megan, za to lubily Elizabeth. A miedzy Elizbeth a Megan zaczely sie drobne spiecia, ale ogolnie bylo ok. Do pewnego grudniowego dnia. Courtney, Lucy i Adrian wybierali sie na kolacje, zaprosili Elizabeth. A ta powiedziala Megan, ze wychodzi ze znajomymi z kosciola. Tylko, ze gdy stali pod stacja metra, w momencie gdy wlasnie wszyscy sie zeszli, wpadla na nich Megan. No i sie zaczelo. Bo Elizabeth ja oklamala, z tym ze wiedziala, ze Lucy i Courtney nie chca zeby Megan z nimi szla. Od tego dnia sie do siebie nie odzywaja. Najwiekszy problem polega na tym, ze zawsze trzeba uwazac, kogo sie gdzie zaprasza, bo jak one dwie sa w jednym miejscu, to koniec zabawy. I wlasnie przez to nie widzielismy Megan i Marka (jej chlopaka), a Megan jak Megan, nie powiem, zebym za nia wyjatkowo przepadala, ale Mark jest fajny. Dramat, dramt, dramat.... W kazdym razie wieczor minal w porzadku, byl tez Adrian i Ann, nauczycielka z Roba szkoly, ktora caly wieczor zorganizowala. Musze sie przyznac, ze na poczatku bylam o nia troszke zazdrosna. Ale mi przeszlo :)
W sobote bylismy w Krivoklacie, miasteczku oddalonym ok 40km od Pragi. Co roku urzadzaja tam na zamku jarmark wielkanocny. Nie taki jarmark, jak w Polsce na wioskach. Tutaj to staraja sie zrobic bardziej jak sredniowieczy jarmark, z calym mnostwem atrakcji typu sredniowieczna muzyka, wystepy, jedzenie itp. I do tego na dziedzincu zamkowym. Milo bylo - spacerek po lesie, zwiedzanie zamku (wybudowanego czesciowo przez Jagiellonow), i oczywiscie buszowanie po straganach. Kupilam sobie sliczna bizuterie, recznie robiona, wyjatkowa (i do tego tania). Nikt nie ma takiej drugiej.
Weekedn ogolnie minal spokojnie i milo, poza tym, ze wdalismy sie w dyskusje na temat wakacji. Jakis czas temu planowalismy wyjazd do Stanow, ale boje sie, ze nie dostane wizy, wiec zrezygnowalismy. Wspomnialam wtedy, ze moglibysmy pojechac do Szkocji (Roba rodzina stamtad pochodzi). Pomysl spodobal mu sie niesamowicie i wszystkim powiedzial, ze jedziemy, bez zadnego planowania, a zwlaszcza brania pod uwage kosztow. W momencie, gdy zaczelismy sprawdzac ceny okazalo sie, ze to nie takie proste (czytaj: tanie) i bedziemy miec problemy z finansami. Ale Rob sie juz napalil i nie szlo go przekonac, ze to nie najlepszy pomysl, bo nas na to nie stac. No i caly weekend o tym rozmawialismy. On czasem jest jak dziecko, ktoremu spodobala sie zabawka i chce ja za wszelka cene. Caly weekend od soboty chodzil obrazony, ze mam watpliwosci. Ciezka sprawa, ale chyba dal sie w koncu przekonac. Zobaczymy, jak to bedzie i gdzie pojedziemy.... Juz mi sie o tym nie chce myslec.
